VYO is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. All parents and other supportive adults are encouraged to participate and attend our open board meetings. CONTACT US
Development Committee promotes relationships with donors to our organization. They will work to develop donors through networking, maintain relationships with existing donors, and keep the VYO Alumni database updated and informed. This is a major area of growth for the VYO, and it is crucial for the long-term stability of the Orchestra!
Public Relations Committee, together with the VYO Manager, is responsible for getting the word out about the Orchestra to the five-county region that we serve. These will include: press releases, local radio and tv spots and PSAs, live streaming VYO events, developing and maintaining relationships with area school districts and music teachers, and being involved with area events and festivals. The overarching goals of this committee are to actively seek out potentially new families and students for the VYO, and to ensure that the VYO is well known throughout the region.
March Concert Dessert Committee is responsible for procuring desserts for the March concert. A list of vendors from previous years is available and our goal is to get as many donated desserts as possible from vendors. (Homemade desserts cannot be served at the Pavilion due to contractual restrictions.) If a vendor cannot donate the dessert then we work to get a reduced price. Last year we had approximately 500 small-plate servings for this event.
